thank you guys... also there is 2 metal pieces inside that because of the rattling they became loose but i can remove them just by pulling.... do i have to replace those too or i can just do the tensioner, its a temporary job, since i be getting a newer explorer soon and i need to extend the life of my explorer for at least a couple of months...thanks, and sorry if i posted in the wrong place

im going crazy.. do you guys know whats holding the piece in place... i took the hex screw from the side but is not coming out... what do i have to take out... aaaaaaaaaaahhh :)

That is the timing chain guide. You need to remove the t30 torx bit from the front (I think you did) and there is another bolt behind the timing cover I believe.

guide assembly replacement

In order to remove and replace the left timing chain guide assembly you have to remove the front timing cover. The lower mounting bolt is behind the jackshaft front sprocket. You can no longer just purchase the guide assembly from Ford. You must purchase the entire cassette (guide assy, sprockets and chain). To replace the left cassette with or without the Ford special timing tool kit see this thread: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Inspection & Repair

For timing chain related part numbers: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Related PNs
