My beloved Ford Sport Trax has just reached 132000 miles with no major repairs needed. Should I begin replacing parts as a precaution to breaking down somewhere? Example: serpentine belt, thermostate, hoses, water pump etc ?
Thanks
Mike

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I would just keep up on your maintenance, do things like plugs, wires, fuel filter, fluid flushes, and watch for signs of failure in any of the parts. May not be a bad idea to put some money aside in case you do need to replace stuff.

My dad is selling his old chevy 2500, it has 170k miles, all original suspension, water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc... he if had started replacing stuff just to replace it he would have spent a lot of unneeded money
