I have a 1998 Explorer 4x4 , 4008cc SOHC engine, done 68,000 miles which has a slight oil leak which appears to be from the front timing chest case between the exposed pulley and the case itself which I guess is just an oil seal.

Knowing there are ooo's of Explorers made, I guess this could be a common issue on here. Oviously the serpentine belt and pulley will have to come off, but is there anything else to watch out for in doing this job ? assum ing its just a seal.

Many thanks

Tony

Wot nobody on here had to change their timing case oil seal
