timing question

i have a 2000 ford explorer 4x4 with a E Vin 4.0 sohv does anyone know if this motor crashes valves if timing chain breaks????

Welcome to this forum! Somebody that was new mentioned last week that his timing chain failed, and his valves hit the pistons. I'm not sure which 4.0 it was.
