Hi all , I have a 97 4 ltr sohc, I have just pulled the engine down, and found that all 4 timing chain guides are broken, motor is still in good shape, no damage, I can make up my own tools to time it, In what order (timing chains)
do you start, ie left, right , main and balancer.
Next question, does the balance shaft have to be lined up as well or does it just spin . thx Pete

camshaft retiming order

Check out my helpful threads. One of them has the instructions for timing the camshafts.

There are timing marks associated with the balance shaft and the timing process is difficult to explain without drawings. If you PM me your email address I'll send you the SOHC V6 assembly instructions that explain the whole timing process in the proper order.
