Though this may seem like a dumb question to you experienced off-roaders...I just got 30x9.50 lt r15s put onto my 93 navajo, BFG All-Terrain TA/s. The tire pressiure is a 40psi...ford, as we all know, recomends 26psi...but is 40 correct for these tires?

what does bfg recomend for the tire pressure...or is that irrelevent?

Go by the chalk test or the door sticker- the sidewall pressure is just a max load@ rating for the tire.

I think somewhere in the 25-30 range would be about right. I run 25-27 on my 31's and the outside tread is just in contact with the road. On the highway with a full load of people/ stuff I adjust the tires up to 30-32-35 depending.
