Everyone always has custom tire racks made for them. Why can't you just take the tire rack off of a bronco II and stick it on an Exploder? All you have to do is drill holes in the vetical support behind the tailgate.

I think it would take a lot of fab work to fit it. First the corners are differnt so that would have to be changed. You have a latch on the tailgate you would have to deal with which would probably be pretty easy to figure out.
You have to remember more then likely you are putting a 33" tire on there so it has be sturdy. That tire weighs a bunch.

I had the same question and when I went to the junk yard and looked at the Bronco IIs tire racks I realized that it would take a lot to modify it and the "Junk Yard Guy" said that he douted that it would support a 31 inch(too heavy). I opted for the Safari Rack on top with the tire carrier that Performance Products sells. Now I'm just waiting for the cash.

Have you ever seen a BII with a larger tire mounted on the carrier? They have a tendency to rip the carrier off the side of the truck! I would avoid any "mount" that attaches to sheet metal. It has been used for years and I have yet to see a design that didn't eventually destroy the side of the vehicle.
