Tire sensor fault

This issue has occurred several times now. Usually happens when I go over a speed bump or on drives of more than 100 miles. Im not sure if this is related or just random. Ive checked the tires several times and they are not low. Has anyone else ST been doing this? I have an 08 ST Limited. Thanks.

Mine hasn't but our new police cars are the explorers and it seems every time I get in one a tire sensor light is on. They do go bad if your not losing air don't' worry about it. When you change your tires buy aftermarket sensors and have them installed (cheaper).

The tire sensor light on my 08 comes on periodically as well. I just ignore it...
When it comes on whle driving just hit your reset button on the dash.

Dead batteries in your sensors. Part of the engineered obsolescence forced upon us by legislation.

How did we survive the Pre-TPMS age as a species.......

Batteries are embedded in the non serviceable sensor which is held on by a big hose clamp that fits around the rim, which they call a band. Easier and cheaper just to chuck the whole band setup and get new stem style sensors. They will run you between 20 and 30 bucks each on ebay. Google orange electronics.

There are two types of TPMS sensors. There is a band type, which is mounted on the rim with looks like a large hose clamp (metal band). The other is a stem sensor, which is attached to the valve stem.

Each sensor has its own battery, including the spare tire. No matter which type you have, the tire must be dismounted to get to it.

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked is that I have a TPMS message on the info panel, but it doesn't say which wheel. I need to replace two tires so I guess it would be wise to replace them at the same time since it's a 2007 model.

The tire store can tell you which sensor(s) need to be replace. As old as yours is, it makes sense to change them now.

My TPMS Sensor fault has been on for over a year. I'm lazy, though.

had this happen to me last week i drive crap city /suburban roads every day to work. it comes n goes. but if you put the car in to tire sensor reprogramming mode it should resync and stay off for a bit. i am just going to ignore it till i get new tires.
