Tire Sizes

I am new to the website and forum so hi to all....

I have a 02 explorer xls with stock everything

I just recently took off the running boards b/c they are purposeless and now i want new tires, new bigger tires

when i went to Americas tire company (the chain of stores) they said the biggest that would fit w/o rubbing would be p255/70/16 (on stock wheels naturally).

Do any of you guys here have any experience with 265/70/16 on your explorers and if they rub or not because that is the size i want...

try running a search I'm sure this has been talked about before!!

they may rub a little, nothing a little trimming can't take care of

A guy by the name of captainkev put on 265/75-16 on his 03 XLT with just a little trimming of the plastic inside of the fender well!
