tire sizes

I am curently running the stock rims on my '02 E.B. and am going to change them (to something with a more neutral offset). They look like a "star fish" as my wife describes, and was wondering if I stayed with the same size 16x8 could I run a 275 or even a 285 tire on them with no lift. I recently saw 285"s on a 16" inch rim and it looked good, even though it was on a Chevy, and was wondering if I could pull it off.

You could probably find an identical rim but you need to make sure they are 5 on 4.5" and have enough backspacing..
