I have a stock '92 I bought with only 37,000miles on her. The stock wheels and tires gotta go! How big can I go with the tires before I need to do a lift. How much does a 2" lift cost on average. By the way, I'm not the guy to be working on my own rig...trust me, so figure pay'n some crafty guy in that estimate please!

There's lots of great info amongst you guys, any help would be greatly appreciated!

you got a 92 with 37k on it?! thats pretty sweet :) well, i think the biggest youll be able to go without a lift is a 30x9.50. as for the rest of your question, i have no idea :p sorry.

go here for more detail: http://www.explorer4x4.com/faq.htm#91-94

hope this helps.

yup 30x9.5 maybe 31s but doubtful without needing to trim a bit of plastic.....

37K miles!!! Incredible!!!

My '92 has 274K so keep the oil changed and you should have several years of dependable service.

31's fit on my stock explorer, but they're all different and you should be able to fit 31's with no problem with a 2" lift.

I have 31's with no lift.. no rub.. no problems...
Click on mugshot link in my sig to see a pic of them.
