Anyone have any idea how big of a tire I can put on a 01 Sport Trac with factory premium 16" wheels and a 2" Warrior shackle lift & torsion twist?

I assume that I can easily go with 31x10.5x16 ...can I maybe go up a few more?

I have one of those wifes who says that SIZE does matter and she wants the BIGGEST that she can get.

Ok, I just found some info and now I'm wondering ....

Was told by a Goodyear rep that nobody makes a 31x10.5X16 tire and that there is no such thing as a 31,32 or 33 or 10.5,11.5 or anything in 16".....that with 16" tires are only measured metrically such as 255/70/16....so now I'm really confused and looking for some help because I'm really a tire novice.

I was told that the "biggest" tire available in 16" was a Goodyear 305/70/16 and that basically its a 33x12x16.

Will this fit a ST without rub?

If a 305/70/16 won't fit (which I don't think it will....way to big) then what is the actual biggest tire size that will fit?

I'm doing the shackle lift this weekend and I would really love to be installing some new rubber at the same time.

I know there are some tire techies here that can give me some good clear answers.......please

I think you'd be pushing it with 275s on there. I have 265-75-16s and I'm happy with their lack of rubbing.

yup ac sounds right, oh yeah, i am a retired(no pun intended) tire techie

What??

The Goodyear rep is an idiot. I just put 315-75-16s on my lifted ST (way bigger then 305-70s) .They are bigger than most so called 35s.
BTW, Not to be a wise-a##, But whats up with the "Envy My ST"? Now come on, You even admit it was a salvage car or a rebuilt wreck---It just don't add up pardner! He##, I paid almost 30,000 for my 'Trac & gave it 7.5 inches of lift, 35 inch tires etc. And I wouldn't even consider the "envy my ST" thing.

Your goodyear rep is not representing his company very well. My buddy has a 2001 Yota Crew Cab that came factory with 31x10.50x16's on it . I know they're made. Might have to search aound for them, since your rep hasn't heard of them. Hope this helps.

I'd bet something = to 32's would fit well. Maybe 33's with a little trimming.

ww.4lo.com has a metric tire conversion calculator. Very easy to use.

With the sportrac's larger wheel wells I would put a 285/75/16 on there.
