To lower or to lift. Would like opinions

Major modifications are definitely not outside the scope of this forum. Maybe outside the intended scope of this thread, but there's lots of heavily modified vehicle build threads. The forum was originally created as a meeting place for like minded off road Ford Ranger based vehicle enthusiasts.
rhetorical. 'link to an example of a 6" lowered 4th gen exploder on this site please'.
I didnt mean to hurt your feelings but the FACT remains the thru hole in the frame is not going to limit your street driven exploder lowering project.
you would be extremely deep in the modifications to get a 4th gen anywhere near a 6" drop, the least of your issues would be the factory half shaft pass thru.

Didn't hurt my feelings. I don't have any first hand experience with the 4th generation Explorers. They seem to be a good platform for minor modifications.

You made an incorrect statement about this forum. You also seem hung up on the fact that all internet people don't agree that through frame axles are not a limiting factor for height modifications. I usually say what I want to say, give my opinions based on 50+ years of amateur vehicle fab, repair and maintenance and move on. If people don't agree I rarely argue the point(s) I was trying to make. It's just not that important to me.

I am not hung up on anything. I can see the motion ratio of the half shaft and location of the pass thru in relation to the CV. its a non issue. so far zero people have been able to link to anyone that had an issue with the pass thru when lowering, but it is repeatedly referred to as a limiting factor for lowering on this page.
