We have a 2003 Explorer V6 ohv 4WD and are trying to decide if changing the tranny fluid is a risk or not. It has 100K miles and I doubt it was ever changed since the rear differential had not. (I changed according to specs and looked untouched, yes I used friction mod) Fuel filter next on list today.
This vehicle never pulled anything and has spent its life on the interstate system. It has the tow package. I know the factory recommedations, or lack there of. Given this knowledge, would you service this tranny that has no problems and risk giving it some?
