My aluminum heads on my 05 4.0L were warped so I had an automotive machinist mill them to flat again. He had to take 0.015" off them to square them up.
Reading that milling may require me to use a thicker gasket, I see only 0.020" shims available.
So now do I use a standard gasket with no shim and lower my head by 0.015" or do I add a 0.020" shim resulting in the head being 0.005" higher than it was to start with.
Or can someone tell me where I could find a gasket/shim that would give me back the 0.015" that I lost when the heads were milled?
