I went to get my 97 Explorer aligned and the tech said I needed to replace the part that fixes the toe in and toe out. I am not sure which part this is and where can I find one. I want to upgrade all components but that could be later. Thank you for the help.

if i not mistaken that is why you are taking it there, to get it fixed. i think they should have that part.

but check at your local parts store or last effort check dealer.

i might just be used to be taking old early model 80's cars that almost everything had the same piece. all i think it is a pipe that has inside threads that the tie rod end from each spindle goes to and connects them together, to the steering control rod.

hope this mess helps.

The toe is adjusted through the tie rod ends. There is no special "kit" needed to make the adjustments. Are you sure the tech wasn't refering to the camber/ caster kit?

I am not looking for a kit but just the part to replace the factory part. So the toe in and toe out can be adjusted.

You MUST be seeking a camber adjustment kit' any good alignment firm will have it.

Good luck.....

Toe can be adjusted without having to replace anything (unless there is a tierod end that has failed).
