I have been using my EX for 4 months now and recently discovered a funny little switch inside the center console, where the A/V/Nav connections are with a little blue LED. I have looked in my OG but no where to be found (perhaps oberlooked). I think someone also posted something related to this.
Any ideas?

There is nothing like that on mine. Another member posted a picture when he had his console replaced and noticed it was different. I believe it was cnsheets but the photo is no longer there. His console was replaced due to overspray from the dealer carrying out the 'Rain Noise' TSB. Can't recall if it showed what you are referring to.

Here is a pic, this is located in the compartment in front of the shifter, where the connections for Sync is.

Your wife tracking you and your phone calls? Nothing like that in mine. You bought it new? Canada or US?

Are those actual buttons that show what looks like a phone and a 'fence' or are they a fixed item? Perhaps that blue LED comes on when the phone is used?? Have no idea what that other one is supposed to be. :dunno: Wierd.

A phone and a picket fence. How curious?? It kinda looks 'home grown' to me. I am assuming that is on the rear wall of the little cubby hole. Isn't that where the light should be??

Did you buy the car new or previously owned? I ask because I wonder if a previous owner customized it somehow.

I've never seen that before either.

LOL, my most sincere apologies for this post, but that is the satellite traking device in my EX. Case closed. FYI, it was dealer installed and they never told me where the switch was. Interesting where they located the same.

Yes it was new, US.

Cool, mystery solved. Satellite tracking? Interesting, tell us more :)

In case the EX is stolen, you can call their 24/7 emergency number and they can track the vehicle live and contact police. In addition I have the option to track the vehicle from home to know where it is, so if any of the family members uses the EX, we know where it is. I have not had the chance to use this gizmo yet as the only ones driving the EX are my wife and me. No kids allowed for the time being. The satellite tracking device is called Guide Point. There are more options to what I just emtnioned but i do not have their full package, just wanted to have something in case the vehicle is stolen.

Hey it added a bit of excitement to my day, although it doesn't take much to do that. :D
Still puzzled over what looks like a fence though.

The fence side of the switch is for protection when you turn off the vehicle, is activated. If you want to deactivate/activate, go to the fence, blue led on, protected.

Approx how much did the dealer charge to install? Is there an annual or one time fee to keep active?

Do not remember the exact figure, +/- $500. Basic plan is for the life of the gizmo is free, other plans vary cost on what you want. They also include emergency assist for the life of the unit. Although i have the basics covered under Ford's general waranty plus 911 Assist, there was no tracking device. You can transfer the gizmo to another vehicle if you like as long as you advise them the change of car, make, model, year, bla, bla, bla. It is just a peace of mind in case something happens. They also have applications for mobile devices in case you are in need of tracking, also have a call center for emergencies, medical.
FYI, recently US Authorities discovered a gang, in San Fran or LA, trying to smuggle out of the US in shipping containers ready to go to the Far East, Ferraris, Porsches, MBs, one of the cars had a satellite tracking device.

Is this some sort of Lojac?

I know about Lojac, I would say yes. I hope not to use it though. :-)
