Picking up a new trailer today to haul my B2 to some off roading events.
Anybody have ideas or pics of some tool boxes that they mounted on their trailer or other hardware that might be appropriate. Home made or otherwise?

On Pirates in the tow rig section there is a thread called all about the little things trailer edition or something like that. Has lots of good ideas in it. Let me know what you come up with. need to build a box for mine.

Yes they did have some good ideas on Pirate. Thanks for the info.

Here's an idea I got when I went over to a friends house and noticed these tool boxes he had laying around. They're the type that sits on the R & L bed rails on a pick up truck. They're 7' long which is as wide as my trailer...insert light bulb over my head lol. I asked him how much? "How about $10 apiece" he said. Well $20 later I've got them home.

I had one sitting on the tongue but too long. Hits rear of truck when doing a tight turn. So what I did next was to lay it flush with the front edge. It only takes up 10" of deck. Don't mind the one sitting behind it. So I'm 99% sure this is where I'll bolt it. It's a perfect fit for width.

But with the first one located, why not add the second for gobs of storage space. Don't think there is such a thing as too much space for crawler hardware and tools.
Would not take too much to design a double decker tool box. The top would have to be high enough so the lid of the lower one will open.
A couple sticks of angle iron to form a structural support would be all I need. And yes I would paint it.
The top one would open from the trailer side cause it would be too high reach into if facing other way. I can easily stand on trailer to reach this one. The lower one would face the other way so I could stand on the ground and not lean down so far if it was mounted facing the other way. Cause then I'd have to stand on trailer and bend way down.

Making the upper tool box supports out of 1.25x 1.25" sq tubing.

The top box has to be that high so it clears the lower box lid when opened.
The top box is turned toward trailer so I can stand on trailer to access tools.

Just painted the supports. Later I'll add some more bracing. Also cleaned tool box for painting, as in years of tree sap.
