My wife tore her rear driveshaft boot by running over a large branch. I was wondering what the repair options are; maybe an aftermarket boot that could be installed with the driveshaft on the vehicle?

You could use a shock boot if you take it apart, or replace it wit a stock boot. You may be able to find a CV boot that is split, and not have to take it apart. If it were mine, I would repair it with an OEM boot, drive shafts are simple to remove.

Thanks for the reply, the dealer by my house wanted $165 for the OEM boot! Since appearance does not matter, I will probably seek a less elegent solution.
