03 sport trac
I have an 03 sport trac with 133k, I have noticed a few times over the last week or so a shutter when I go up hill. It seems to happen around 40mph but it is does not happen every time and if I let off the gas and ease back in it goes away. Any ideas or suggestions? Oh, fluid is clean and full. Thanks

Same.... maybe

Unfortunately, I do not have the answer for you. I have an 02 LTD 4X4 with 83K on it. I also have a slight shutter. When I pull my camper, mostly above 40-45 mph, I also hear and feel a vibrating/growling from the front end. Mostly when I am accelerating and especially when I add steering input, no matter how little.

Most people on here in the past seem to think this is a bearing problem. I was wondering about the U-joints too. Maybe read some of the wheel bearing threads. If not, maybe a kind gearhead on here can help us both! Best of luck to you!

welcome bill

Welcome! Check your drivetrain for slop and check out our drivetrain section.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. Make sure that you have the correct fluid in your transmission. The wrong fluid could cause shudder. Lubegard makes a friction modifier additive to convert your fluid if you want to try it.
