I saw some of the classic car "torque thrust" wheels at this year's Pennsylvania Carlisle Ford nationals and found out that yes, they DO make them in applications that would fit an Explorer. I can't afford them right now, but I'm seriously thinking about 17 or 18" ers in the near future.
What do you all think? (please keep in mind that I'm trying to locate a 69 Mustang Mach 1 as a companion for my X-told ya he's spoiled!)

thanks!

I say go for it. I think it might look nice. Dont they come stock now on the 2001 mustangs?

I think so.....I know I've seen some slick ones that were chrome around the rim and painted grey on the spokes-that would match the platinum theme of my X perfectly. >sigh< Time to buy some more Lotto tickets........

Those are the sweetest wheels . When I was building my S-10 I planned on buying them , but I fell short on $$$ . Hey wouldn't the GT mustangs bolt right on an X ? I'd look for some off a totaled Stang .

I dunno, would they be able to handle the increase in vehicle weight? I have a friend with a Volkwagen Golf who didn't check the load rating on the rather expensive rims she bought and 2 outta 4 developed cracks running through the spokes and the part that the tire actually sits on. Her tires keep going flat as a result.

? ! ? !

I don't know , But countless people are runnin' on 17"x 8/9" Cobra R's . I haven't heard of any problems .
