Question

hey guys, ive read through the hole thread and i have a couple of questions.

When I do a TT and shakles in the back does it lift the body and suspension or just body because i have a brush guard bolted to the frame and when i do a tt will that effect the brushguard. Its conected in two spots, mounting brakets underneath and 2 between the front bumper and grille conected to the top of the frame. Will the brush guard still be in line with the front of the X or will it then be lower and the light guard arms off the main frame of the brush guard not match up because of the lift?

thanks, great work and research done on the topic!

it is a suspension lift

therefore the brush guard will be fine?

great, thanks for the answer

Hey guys,
Does anyone know a local dealer that may stock warrior shackles in Western Canada? or a US dealer that ships to Canada??

Nope, thats normal.

so if ur tightening the torsion bolts its givin lift.........how much would u need to losen if ur trien 2 get from 2"-3" of drop

read the whole thread, still have a question, i have a 01 Xplorer Sport(not the truck) and im doing the TT on the front, im gonna do the shackle in the back(well i like to) but i read one post where it said the spring will flatten out? if so is that bad? its a daily driving truck and it will see off-road time(mainly mud pits, but trail rides also) if thats the case, will a AAL work? i wanna jack the back up 2" and the front bout 1.5" to level it out. is that correct. also the truck has the towing package whats the difference? just the rear springs or the bars 2?

id guess rear springs but im not sure....best to do is get the shackle kit and probably some better leafs for the back

FOR A TORTION LIFT ON A 04 RANGER DO YOU JUST TWIST THE ADJUSTER BOLTS OR DO YOU TWIST THE WHOLE BAR CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A QUICK STEP BY STEP thanks my ranger is 2wd and i want to make the front level with the rear how long can i dive it before i need front end alined will it damage any parts

1999 Ranger torsion bar

My torsion bar cracked while in 4wd. Road was a little rugged but not that bad. What would cause this? Metal fatigue or something? what about wear of other front end suspension parts would that cause the bar to crack? what should I look for? Link rod (that goes to lower control arm seems to have bad rubber) ANy help or suggestions would be GREAT. Can I drive the truck at low speed 6 miles to the shop without damaging anything?

i would not drive it but i work for a towing company i will cut you a hell of a deal to tow it call me 813-802-1502

I have to say, this has been a very informative thread. There are definitely answers to a lot of questions I have had in the past. Nice work gang!!

this thread saved me a headache...thx !

thanx for this write up. i had my lower ball joints and control arms done today, but the torsion bars were put back as low as they can get. i guess they forgot to wrench them down...it looked so screwed up all lowered. didnt notice til i was on the road....so i got home and i just cranked em up evenly, and im ok. doesnt seem to pull either, so i guess i got it right. the headache would have been driving down there and complaining, and not knowing about this adjustment, and looking dumb. plus not having the truck for another day. thanx again for this write up !
