know do you know what size those bolts are?

Do you mean thread size? or do you mean what size socket/wrench works for them?

socket.

Quick question on the torsion bars. When I was under my 98 Sport I noticed that there were different colored tags on the bars, got to looking and noticed that one was a D and one was a B. I have read a lot here about the different stiffness of the bars but now I am curious if having two different bars would matter.

Thanks

Thanks, I sent him a pm.

So your saying that the mis matched pair probably isn't a good idea right? I kind of thought that when I saw what was under there.

So I did a 2 inch torsion twist and put shackles on my 2wd X,
looks pretty good with 31's,
I was thinking about getting some 2 inch lifted leaf springs from eaton springs and lifting the front another 2 inches .
Would I have to get my drive shaft extended or anything like that or would it be as easy as getting new bolts for the torsion bars and twisting them another 2 inches and installing the 2 inch lift leafs?
I cane into a little bit of money lately so I was thinking about doing that,
some new 32 a/t's and an aussie locker so the 2wd will be at least a little bit off road capable and not so much just for looks.
Thanks much.

does any one have a pic of an explorer with a 2" torsion bar lift i would likek to see the results as i might do it to mine for starters

just a question

does any one have a pic of an explorer with a 2" torsion bar lift i would likek to see the results as i might do it to mine for starters

So is 2" not very advisable? Anything just under 2"? (I'll probably just even it out with the shackles which won't get 2")

Was wondering where I find the bar code on the door? Can someone take a picture of theirs and circle it or something?

What's the difference in the codes? I know one's stiffer, but what exactly does that mean? Amount of lift? Which is the best to have?

Ok, I have 1F, is that bad? I've read they are pretty stiff, but what does that mean? Is that good for doing a TT? And shackles? Does it require longer torsion bolts?

bump

for the torsion twist.. i meant it seems little risky to run your cv joints to crap and then have to get new axels.
i have a 96 XLT X and im just wondering if i do the SOA will i need to the do the TT or can i get a away with a body lift???
thanks

you can with a nice 3" rake...alot of guys here have run the TT with no problems whatsoever because the 2" TT just takes away down travel form the suspension and it is within the angles for the CV joints. All you get is a stiffer ride and less downtravel.
