From what I have read if you should be fine with stock shocks up to 2 inches of lift. Why are you wanting to change the torsion keys?

Because I have a 06 chevrolet z71 that I have cranked the torsion bars way up on to get 285 tires under it and it rides like a brick truck and I dont want my EX to feel the same way I have 1.5" shackle extensions on the rear and have already turned the bars up a good bit to get 31 10.5 under it with a little wheel well space would like to get the front level with the rear. I dont like the slite rake it has to the front. level looks better

Tighten the bolts or use longer M12 x 1.75 bolts if the threads are bottomed. Apply the savings from the lift keys towards alignment, camber kits, or Rancho RS5374 front shocks designed for lift. Your control arm angles and shock travel will be identical with either method. You will see there is no benefit installing lift keys by searching, especially since the maximum recommended front lift is 2" for 4WD Explorer's. Lowering keys are a different story. One of many searching "lift keys".

I could be wrong but the new torsion keys will still be cranking on the bars making the the ride stiffer. The only thing I can see the keys helping is if your bars are "sagging" and you can't get the 2 inches of safe lift with the stock adjusters.

What I think is odd is as many tortion twists that I have done one explorers and I do alignments at work the only thing that's bin off was toe.

Think about how torsion bars work. Torsion keys are the same as tightening the bolts. It's gonna ride rough either way, and achieve the same thing.

10 4 guys thanks for the info. I am just going to do the TT
