Torsion lift??

I hope this isn't a stupid question but, at least it won't be my first.
Why is it necessary to jack up the front of the truck to do a torsion bar adjustment?

Well, its probably much easier to turn the adjusting bolts when the weight of the vehicle isn't working against you. If the vehicle is resting on the springs, you're not only turning the bolt against the static spring tension, you're also lifting the vehicle with that little bolt.
