What is a torsion twist? I have no idea what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to find it with a search. But just to clarify. The second generation explorers with the "new" IFS use torsion bars instead of coil springs. These torsion bars have an adjuster bolt (that you can find pictures of here if you search torsion pictures or something). This bolt can be tightened or losened to loses or tighten the torsion bars. The tighter torsion bars cause the front end to be stiffer and lift it up a little due to the added "strength".

correction look at the static post at the top of this category called Torsion Bar 101.
