Ive been reading about tortion twisting and tortion keys for over two hrs now and i feel im talked out of both ideas i want enough clearance for 33''s but dont want to spend a ton of money due to the fact that it is only for looks and my ranger is 2wd. The more i read i see that some people say do not buy tortion keys because they will bind the cv joints and such but some say if you install them and leave them as just the tortion key and dont tighten your tortion bars also you will be fine. Then some people are saying its safe to tighten the tortion bars up to two inches. Then i think what people are saying is if your ranger is 2wd and not 4wd the tortion keys are ok. Can anybody clear this up for me i want a 3 inch lift with some 33'' but dont want to damage money or spend hundreds doing it.

Please help thank you

than a body lift is great for you, it is somewhat easy to do on a ranger, and gets the 3 inches , and 33's are possible after that , not expensive either,

I ment to type in there I dont want to go with a body lift I dont like the idea of it or the space it puts between frame and body and bumpers and so on

If your ranger is 2wd, you don't have cv joints to worry about.
Unless for some reason you made your ranger fwd, in which case you would be shot. :)

my ranger is 2wd i dont know enough about cars to know what to do only what I read and then what I buy I know i want 3inches of lift cause I dont want to spend more money then that I know i wanna fit 33s but I see people are against tortion keys which was my plan till i read that people say not to get them. then people say not to tighten the tortion bars either so I dont know what to do to get my lift and 33s without spending tones of money or getting the gaps of a body lift

Ive already looked at tons of forums and read probably a hundred responses. Im trying to get everything summed up. I have a 2001 2wd ranger edge. what is ok and safe to do to increase my ride highet and fit 33s. without going the body lift route not that there is anything wrong with that. I just am not a fan of the gaps for some reason

thank you
