first, what happened with the check engine light...second, some people run a receiver up front too, just for a recovery point...then you can slide in your weldded or bolted on hooks to the receiver if you need to be pulled from the front or rear...

Best way is to locate a point of the frame that would allow a clear line for the top strap from the front, drill the frame, and use grade 8 hardware or better to secure it. Sometimes a tow hook on both front frame rails works best.

no idea on the check engine light...no one in town has a scanner except ford.....at least that i know of...and i dont have the money for a reciever hitch up front. how did you attach a hook to the frame? thats what i need to know. i was thinkinng of frilling holes putting some grade 8 bolts and weld around the hook for strength....any suggestions?

don't just weld them, you don't really need to weld them bolted is fine....there are a few threads on "installing Tow hooks" on here i will see if i can find one. But essentally you drill holes and bolt the hooks to the frame rails.

I got mine bolted on to the inside frame rails, just behind thr front bumper. I will try to get some pics tomorrow when I get home and post them up here for you. Victor
