Hey,

my friend just bought a 94' EB 4X4 and he plans on wheelin' it. thus the need for tow hooks. my question is what is needed to put tow hooks on? any special brackets? or do they just bolt onto the frame?

thanks,
bigmac

Hi!!! From kinston huh? I live in New Bern! As for the towhooks, when I did mine i had to drill the frame in 2 places, and then slide a thin piece of metal with nuts welded to it into the frame rail to have something to bolt onto. If you need more help just ask.

Hey,

yep, i'm from kinston, but my friend with the new explorer is in washington. he's picking up his new X in jacksonville saturday. so i may have some more technical questions once i get to look at it. basically i was just checking to see if tow hooks would just bolt on. lol, it's never that easy though. (hehe, i should know, i drive a jeep cherokee with a uni-frame, which requires a special bracket to install tow hooks)

Hah I totally understand. I wheel with a couple of guys that drive Jeep Cherokees. Hey maybe we can hit the mud sometime. I know of a few places.

Hey,

cool. i usually don't go towards New Bern very often, more towards washington and greenville. there's a spot in g'ville that i love. it's a sand pit site, they dig out dirt and sell it. but every week it changes, new mud holes. which is great for me cause my cherokee isn't lifted, only got a set of 235/75 gerenal grabber a/t tires on it. no fun to have to avoid a mud hole cause some guy with boggers dug ruts in it. lol, always fun to go there. and there are a few trails in kinston too.
