A good (yet sad) read, and I hope you slapped your eclipse-driving friend.

The steel bumper is coming soon enough. Gotta get it road worthy again first. And I didn't know the kids driving the Eclipse, they were lucky my wife was in the truck. I keep a 2.5 foot long truckers crowbar beside the driver seat for just such occasions.

Man Jerry! You didn't initially post this in the Sport Trac section? You didn't hit me up? First I've seen of it. I have a beautiful pair of not needed springs i bought for mine, just laying on a parts truck. They're 2005 models with like 37K miles on them. You still need them? I gave $150 for the pair and you can get them for that and whatever shipping is.

What was your needs for the rear bumper? The cover was bad and I sold the plastic piece but have the steel pieces.

Cool, could you find out what shipping would be to Pittsburgh, Pa., 15212. If it's not too much I'll take those and just get my money back for the set I paid for that were wrong. I know you sold your parts truck so didn't think you had any.

Will do. Only have a couple pieces left. The springs were bought for mine but had more arch in them than mine did and I was lowering mine. I kept the bumper parts as some of it is discontinued from Ford.

i use this same chant whenever im peer pressuring my friends into doing something stupid or ill-advised.
i.e.;
one-more bot-tle!!!
take-your shirt-off!!! (for female friends)
one-more tah-co!!!

it works for almost anything

Did you find out how much shipping was? The spring shop tried to re-arch the Explorer springs to the ST arch and say they were ST springs so I got my money back.

I now need the upper rear shackle bushings that press into the frame, no such luck finding them either. The search continues.

Here's some pictures of the bushings after I spent about an hour and a half pressing and beating the ever living hell out of them with a BFH.

Ok thanks man. Sporty97 has a new set of bushings he never used so I'm buying those from him. On your leafsprings are the shackles still on them? Just curious if the bolts might be siezed in the sleeves like they tend to do. I have a new pair of WP shackles I bought from another member awhile back, went out and bought 9/16" Grade 8 nuts/ bolts and lock washers. I'll have the bushings soon from Sporty97, so I'm down to springs which I'll be buying from you when we find out a price on shipping. Huge thanks again to the members here, y'all are family in my eyes !!!

Just saw this pic. My part number starts with f57z, not 1l5z.... They look identical, except the sleeve for the bolt sticks out a quarter inch or so from the rest of the piece on both sides. Is that was yours were like before destroying them?

Mine have the extended sleeve like yours. I can't find ay pictures online of your aprt# other then your picture and none of the part # Steve gave me except for my picture? They look identical so I'm sending out the money right now so could you send the bushings my way. thanks

They are in route:thumbsup:

I'm not sure how's the best way to send these springs Jerry. They weigh 46 lbs each. I've seen stuff like this shipped without boxing it, bubble-wrapped/padded & taped like all heck. I used one of the shackles on mine so there is only 1 shackle. I can ship them from the USPS or UPS local stores (28037)or from my business (28206).

Edit: UPS looks roughly $35 each? What was shipping on the ones you ordered?

UPS works for me. So the bolts on the shackles came out freely? I'll give you a call so we can work out the details. Thanks again. :salute::thumbsup:

Good talking with ya Jerry!

Let me know what you find out.

O.k. so thanks to the awesome family (site members) I already have the impossible to get upper shackle/frame bushings from Vince (Sporty97) and will have a set of leafsprings soon from Steve (ncranchero).
Huge Thanks again guys !!! :salute:

Here's some picture's of the new bushings installed...

For future reference, those of you who don't have a Balljoint tool kit (which I do but didn't feel like getting out of the shed) you can use a BFH (Big Fudging Hammer) and a 1 1/16" box end wrench to beat in the bushings.

And yes all you Southerner's, that's RUST. LOL.
