I realize this may be an ambiguous set of questions, but you all know better than I do; My brother bought my Ranger 2 yrs ago, and it had 30x9.50 BFG Muds on it... well he has stayed with that size since then but his budget has dictated any cheap replacement mud tire (same size)... well now he needs 2 new tires or if priced low enough he'll get a whole set, but he would like to stay with a mud/flotation tire. Any inputs on a good buy? He's looking for max bang for the buck (if Possible), and doesn't care of brand. ie (he asked if I knew anything about pep boys "Invictor"tires...) Any inputs would be appreciated, he doesn't have computer access so I told him I'd do the leg work. Thank you very much in advance, becker. He is in Los Angeles, and he's coming out here to Tucson this weekend.

I just looked through a bunch of four wheeling magazines and noticed that all the brands of tires in there were from $110 up. Explorer Pro Comp were the cheapest I saw, but only $4 cheaper than the BFG's.

The cheapest mud tires are either the Dunlop Mud Rovers or the General Grabber MTs. They are both excellant tires. They are very comparable to the BFG Muds. I actually think that the Generals are better then the BFGs. More bang for the buck!

Cheap!

At one time, national tire and wheel was having a buy 3 get one free sale on Pro-comp tires. I looked around forever and finaly bought Continental mud terrains. I know, i thought the same thing "never heard of em!" Well, I got 4 tires (33x12.50) and 4 rims (15x8) mounted balanced and shipped for around 600 bucks. Now I know you don't need rims. All you have to do is call Desert Rat at 800-528-3402. They don't advertise the wheels by themselves in the magazines, but they can give you proces over the phone for what you need. I love em, and have put them through hell and back more than once without any problems. Later, john

ps Rich will testify that my tires did pretty well in the mud and rock. Just stay away from fallen trees. (They don't like them very much!)

Man, I didn't even notice what kind of tires they were. I couldn't even see, they were covered with mud! They did do very well!
