Trailer Hitch

Not sure on the explorer but most of the time you will get bigger a bigger radiator, oil and transmission coolers as well as the hitch and all the wiring. I will never own a vehicle without one no matter if I intend to tow or not. Resale usually will be easier (if not trading) due to this also.

Agreed, and I think earlier in this thread it was mentioned the limit to 2000lbs with an aftermarket hitch vs the 5000 limit with the factory. So it would appear the factory hitch can provision for the higher design limit where some attach points or structure available for the aftermarket has the limitation. With the LED taillights I would be more comfortable with the factory wiring setup too. LED's have different current draw and so forth, so you want to make sure you have that right. I know on my wife's Xterra he came with the factory hitch, but no connector. But it had the pigtails down to that area to make it easy to wire up the connector you needed. I would be curious of the Explorer does that if the hitch is not ordered from the factory.
