- 1996 XLT
I did a search but could not come up with this problem. My grandparents have a 1996 Explorer XLT. It did not have a hitch on it (other than the bumper one. class II I think...). However it did have the trailer light harness on it. They bought it used so I think the previous owner only needed the class II ball mount. The problem they are having is that the lights do not work on the trailer. I know for a fact that the lights on the trailer do indeed work because I tested them on my mom's Escape. The trailer lights worked on my grandparents 'X last fall. This spring they do not. The tail lights work and the license plate lights work fine. If there is a fuse that could be blown, what number could it be? I looked at the fuse that the book says handles the trailer lights and it was fine. The inside of the found connector looks brand new. There is no reason, at least as far as I can tell
, why it is not working. Thanks for all your help. I just weant to say that their 'X also had an idleing problem and you guys were right in that the IAC was dirty. Thanks again!
