93 xlt ranger 4x4
I have a 93 ford ranger xlt 4x4 with an automatic transmission. The tranny has just recently started chugging as soon as it gets into its over drive gear when the revs drop. It shifts fine through all the gears other then overdrive. I was wondering what was wrong and how I could fix it.
Thanx Brock

Is the torque converter clutch staying locked too long, or is it stuck in 4th gear? does it do the same thing in D?

Chugging in OD

The truck does not chug in Drive, only in Over Drive.

No how would you go about doing that?

i know this is an old thread, but my trans is doing the same thing, BUT it does it in drive as well as overdrive. Any suggestions as to what could be the issue?

ya know, im not sure when the last time they were changed. i bought it with 104,000 miles and she did always did maintinence on it. i have been checking the fluid lately to see if its getting low and its right where it needs to be.
