tranmission swap Question

How much trouble would it be to swap an automatic to a manual transmission on a 2001 ford ranger?

P.S. which manual transmissions will work?

Do a search it has been done, may be a different year but still applies. The computer is one problem, I think most go with a manual trans computer and wiring.
