Tranny appears to be slipping in overdrive

tourqe converter maybe.

Drive it until it reached 4th, while driving without removing your foot from the gas lightly touch the brake, that causes the converter to unlock, if your rpm's increase its not the converter, if they do its not. look into it on another thread perhaps.

I took it to a tranny shop today and they seem to think it might be a converter issue. But they said there's no way to know without getting into it as there's no codes. Of course it hasn't slipped in three days.

I'm confused with your post. You say if the rpm's increase it's not the converter and if they do it's not the converter. Could you clarify this clearer? Also, where did you get this information?

Well here's a good one for the tranny experts. Today I drove on the interstate to put the new one on the road. On the way it was slipping badly. On the way home at 75 mph it started slipping and I decided to put it on cruise control to see how bad it would slip. The second I turned on the cruise control it locked in and didn't slip once in thirty miles. Is there some type of a different signal going to the tranny or torque converter with the cruise control engaged?
