Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I bought a 96 xlt. Its a 4.0 ohv with auto trans. I've had the truck about a month now and have had no problems. Until yesterday that is. I was leaving the grocery store and after driving over a speed bump the tranny seemed to slip. I could see the rpms jump up on the tack. It then seemed to catch back in gear with a bad grinding sound. It grinded again when it upshifted to 2nd. Afterwards there were no more problems going home or to work this a.m. I have just over 200k on the truck and am not sure of the maint. History. There are no check engine or od off lights on. The fluid looks ok and doesn't smell burnt. I am stumped? And don't know what to check next? Any help or advise is gratly appreciated.
