tranny options??

i gotta 93 XLT 4door with the stock 5speed the M5R1 whitch is a POS ive had it rebuild 4 times sence last febuary is the any any tranny that i can get that will bolt to my 4.0L that is any stronger still want it 5speed tho any ideas?
my 4.0L is makein to much power for the tranny belive i have close to 300hp in my motor

i run the piss out of my motor and tranny at the desert and the tranny has held up fine, (i also have a 5 spd manual). no problems except the clutch for obvious reasons (wear and tear). what do u have done to you motor to make 300 ponies???

well mine has the pushrod version of the 4.0L its been bored out , ported and polished, bigger throttle body, bigger injectors , more aggesive cam,computer has been custom programmed, full exhaust (custom 2 1/2" headers into a 2 1/2" single pipe into a 40series flowmaster with a 3" turn down in front of the rear axle with no cats of course) at idle with it caming and all people have come up and asked me if i swaped in a 302V8 it sounds so good
the last 3 owners of this explorer have been friends of mine and the mods have been done lil by lil by each of us as we owned it
im not sure of all the extact specs of what was dones cuz i didnt do it all on my own but i took it to a local speed shop back in june after i had the full exhaust put on and it had a full 300hp and 408ft/lbs its a beast
i can street race a stock 5.0L mustang redlight to redlight and beat him by 2 explorer lenghts
but right now the explorer hasnt moved sence july 4th im in the process of lookin for another tranny in junk yards etc i gotta get it back on the road my V8 dakota is killin me in gas i might be gettin 8mpg on it and i get 23mpg with the explorer lol

wow, I have done all all the stuff you have, except overbore..... plus a supercharger and I'm nowhere near 300hp.

Are you using nitrous...turbo...or what? I am sorry but I must know how you are doing this so I can do it too.

Don't think there are many 5 speed options available right now....I would just rebuild what you got....you might be able to use one of the t-5's behind the 2005 mustang 4.0's but not sure.
