Tranny problem.

hi i have a '97 ford explorer xlt 4.0 single over head cam
it drives great and has a nice body only problem is recent
when i drive around 40mph it does a weird grinding noise
i think it might be a solenoid but im not for sure trans fluid is good

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. How do you know that it's a problem with the transmission, and not the transfer case? Do you have 4WD?

idk that brooklyn i do have 4 wheel drive and it sounds like its a drill screwing in something or a chain or something idk i dont think its the transmission i thought it would be a solenoid but if you think its the transfer case how do i fix it and how much?

You have to open the transfer case. Check the sticky threads in the transmission section for more information.
