ok ranger guys i may know the answer to this question but i am asking to be sure. I bought a parts ranger for the 5speed...It was a 94 4.0....What is the model number on the tranny...I no longer have the truck or i would check the vin.

I was told the tranny was replaced 6 months before and was a factory rebuild is why i bought it..... It has been in for 8 months and is toast.....

ok that sent me in the right direction. Yeah it is the m5od i had to look it up in a book lol didnt know where it was till dad got home....thanks

8 Months? Dang, it either was run low on fluid or wasn't really rebuilt.......

Im quite sure it was not run low on fluid....The rebuild must have not been properly done....I attribute some damage to hitting the little pickup at almost 50.....I do not think that the rebuild was done properly

If it was truly a factory rebuild, it should have a warranty with it. The last time I had a factory rebuild transmission installed it came with a three year warranty.

The prolbem with all that stuff was the truck had been stolen and they found it and the ins co found it to be totaled.... So my dad knows the guy that ends up with truck like this and he found about the 5speed and we went and bought it for 150.....
