tranny rebuild

i gotta 95 xlt no forward gears with the od light flashing. would it be cheeper to rebuild it and if it is wheres the cheepest place to buy a rebuild kit. or buy one from the junkyard???? im tryin to keep it as cheep as possible.

Junkyard trans...you know nothing about it...taking a chance.

Do you have the ability to rebuild the trans yourself?

Just had my 5R55E rebuilt...$1,900 bucks. 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. That's it.

myself no but me an a couple budys do lol ive never tore one apart but i like the challenge. i have the space and i can buy tools so i figure i might as well try to do it myself

Welcome to this forum! Find out what the codes are before you tear it apart. It might be something simple like a valve body gasket. How many miles does it have?

it has 135,000 miles
