A couple of months ago, I had the tranny rebuilt on our 1996 Limited (197K and still breathing). The other night, I noticed that the 4WD switch was in 4WD-Auto and there was no 4WD light. I found that nothing seems to happen when switching to either 4WD Auto or 4WD Low - no noise, no flicker of the lights, nada. The indicator bulbs are OK, fuses are OK, I get no codes with my code scanner.
Is it possible that something got left disconnected after the tranny rebuild? Are there any connectors underneath there that would be taken off in removing the tranny that could cause this?
Alternately, if I wanted to check the switch on the dash (to have somethign to try without crawling under the truck), how do I get to it? It does feel a bit like it's not doing anything, but maybe it's always felt that way.
