advice for tranny shop on daily driver

Alright guys here's the deal... I love my xploder, but i hate the tranny. I had the A4LD rebuillt by local shop, only to take it back 3 times for leaking, slipping, and linkage adjustment. Now obviously I don't trust their work, but I do have the piece of paper saying 3 year 50,000 mile warranty on the thing. Now my X sits on 35s, 4.56 gears, lockers, 9 inches of total lift, and I take great care of it. Now I have oil leaking from the rear main seal and from the tranny pan itself. There must be something those guys are not doing to keep it from leaking. I've been thumbing threw this site forever, and I just need someone to tell me what I need to tell them they are doing wrong. They are obligated to fix it no matter what, and it is my daily driver (for now) so I hate having to borrow "the loaner" from mom dukes. Please someone help me help them.

P.S. How bout them Skins, and I'm up for wheeling/camping in VA.

leaks in the A4LD come from one of several places. Front seal. linkage passage into transmission, servo seals and pan gasket. When you say rear seal you can only be talking 2WD as the 2WD is the only one with a rear seal.

I'd clean the trannie good, and idle it for 20 mins in your driveway and try and localize the source.....otherwise it can be a crapshoot. leaks in A shows up at B etc.

Check the servo covers and the front seal. I had a tranny shop just look at my tranny and they removed one of the bolts between the tranfer case and the tranny and that is where one time the leak was. I am with Glacier, clean the tranny and put some cardboard under it and watch for the location. This will give the problem and the answer to the location.

Thanks for the replies guys, but the thing is is I got a 3 year, 50,000 mile warranty on it, so I wont be doing work on it - this time, but I hate having to keep giving it back. I will be passing on this info to the so-called 'mechanix'. Thanks again.

IMHO thats a huge load on an A4LD. I am surpriseed they gave you a warranty on it with it modified so much. Hope you get it straightened out though.
