Just a quick question. I went to the Ford Dealer the other day (only because my drivetrain is still under warranty) to have a mechanic come with me to test drive my vehicle. I told him the problem. The tranny when under normal acceleration, in between gears, will jump to around 4500-5000 rmp and then engage again and it seems to want to skip 2nd gear. As soon as i pulled out of the parking lot he noticed the problem. He told me if the vehicle hadn't been under warranty the parts would cost me a butt load. I asked him what a slipping trtanny would afect in my vehicle. He really didn't have an answer for me. so my question is, since the tranny is slipping, what will that affect in my vehicle and how long does it take for a dealer to rebuild a tranny?
