I've got a 2000 Sport and I'm getting some transmission slip. I'm not getting any codes and it doesn't slip all the time. Tends to slip less in the cold weather and before the fluids warm up. In addition to slipping it will occasionally hold a gear and not shift to the next gear right away. I had a mechanic look at it and it didn't slip while he drove the car. Any ideas? Thanks.

You may have a gasket leak... in the Transmission forum there is a thread in the stickied section about rebuilding the 5R55 valve body and with a FOrD TSB modification. I think you may be a candidate for that. Take a look at it.

Change the fluid and filter and add some K&N or some Lucas friction modifier. I cured a 97 Mercury Cougar with the same problem by doing just that.
