I picked up a 1999 Mountaineer For $80.00. Interior, and Exterior is in great condition, but TRanny will not go into any gear but reverse (Park and Neutral). I found a tranny for it with 26,000 miles at a junk yard for 600 bucks. What is the difficulty level for a tranny swap? Ive done tranny swaps in my 77 camaro and 84 chevy truck, how much more difficult is this thing? And yes I said 80 bucks? I have been scrapping cars for a few years now and this has been the best deal yet. I cant believe it, it has 2 brand new firestones on the back. Yes, the Engine sounds little worn (160k) but the wife wants the SUV.
