Okay, first of all I have a 2001 sport. 4.0 auto transmission.
The issue is, it goes through 2nd and 3rd really quick, no bumping/jolting or anything, it is very smooth. and it doesn't slip. however, it doesn't hold those gears long enough to get up to speed properly.
2nd, when you put your foot down to pass, it doesn't "kick down" to a lower gear for passing. If you shift it manually it does fine. I am at a loss. I have ready literally about 50 articles in the tranny section, and cannot find anything like this.
