trans question

I have a 2000 explorer with a bad trans (no reverse all other gears work fine). I also have a 2001 ranger with a bad motor. They both have the 5r55e trans but will the ranger trans work in my explorer? I know that a lot of parts are interchangeable just not sure if trans is.

Thank you. I plan on stripping it of the parts i want as soon as i can get in tbe garage. There are a lot of new parts on the ranger and my explorer need a bit. Might swap the front sheet metal grill and headlight assembies while im at it.
