I just inherited a 2003 ford explorer xlt 4.0. The truck has 166,000 miles.
When rolling about 30 and trying to pass the trans feels like its surging or slipping between shifts. If you drive easy there is no problem. The truck will shift normal. This happens at about 2500 to 4000 rpm. I need help my wife and I need to sell this truck and I dont think anyone will buy it the way it is.
I hate to say it but I doubt the fluid has ever been changed. Im almost scared to change it.
