Hey there,

I just have a couple questions. I just got my Trans temp and Oil Temp gauges installed and was woundering for guys out there that have temp gauges.

1. What temp does your oil range at.

2. What temp does you tran oil temp range at.

Thanks,

It all depends.

I mounted my oil and trans temp on the remote filters.

The tranny temp gauge is before the cooler. My temp range is 140-150F

The oil is around 195-210F

My trans temp depends largely on the weather and where I am driving... I have never seen it get above 100 on the highway, but in the city with stop and go traffic it will easily hit 180 depending on how hot it is outside.

Cool thanks for the reply i really apprecaite it.

My tran range from 120-160 and the sender is on my external filter which is before my external cooler.

You know what funny is my oil temp does not get that hot maybe 100-125. That's itnever seen it getter hotter then that and the sender is located with the oil pressure sender. Does that temp seem right??????

The engine temp seems low. 200 is about right. Oil that doesnt come to operating temps will form sludge and bad stuff faster. I dont think the pressure sender passage gets enough oil for the temp sender to get a good reading if thats where you have it. A reading from the pan would be better.

Tranny temps look good though.

That is way too low. I'd bet it's a gauge problem. I was just thinking about if it would be ok to put the sender by the oil pressure sender. Maybe the sender doesn't get "into" the oil enough at that location.

Ideally, you would want your temp senors in the pan, because that is where the temp matters. As to your fluid temps, they should not get above about 180 in the pan.

Cool thanks for the advice.
